
We are absolutely thrilled to be returning to Kingsmill Resort on August 26–28, 2026, following a highly successful, inaugural event in 2025!
This year, we are excited to expand the experience by welcoming meeting planner members of AENC and VSAE who choose not to golf. Both golfers and meeting planners (non-golfers) will enjoy the majority of our social and dining events together, including the Kingsmill Resort welcome meeting. Once golfers head out to the course, meeting planners will be free to enjoy Kingsmill’s outstanding resort amenities and/or spend additional time with the Kingsmill team for enhanced tours and conversations.
Registration Details:
- April 1st –May 1st, first come first serve for both golfers and meeting planners.
- Golfers:
- Open to AENC and VSAE “association members.”
- All players must have a verifiable GHIN handicap.
- Limited to 12 players from AENC and 12 players from VSAE, or a total of 24 players.
- Payment must be made to hold your spot.
- Meeting Planners:
- Open to AENC and VSAE member meeting planners.
- Limited to 16 total meeting planners.
- Notification of final player roster & meeting planners to be made by June 1, 2026.
Golfer, Meeting Planner & Guest Fees
- Golfer Fee: $300 (Includes two nights lodging, the tournament rounds on Thursday & Friday, awards, and meals mentioned in schedule below.)
- Meeting Planner Fee (no golfing included): Complimentary (Includes two nights lodging, and meals mentioned in schedule below.)
- Guest Fee: $100 (includes all F&B events).

GOLFERS TOURNAMENT TRACK
Tentative Schedule & Tournament Formats
Wednesday, August 26
- 12:00 PM: Practice round tee times start (additional fee of $79).
- Time TBD: Players to make tee times with the golf course, and play is “on your own.”
- Time TBD: Welcome Reception & Pairing Party for the Thursday Round
- Evening accommodations provided by Kingsmill Resort.
Thursday, August 27
- Breakfast on own at Kingsmill (vouchers will be provided)
- 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM: Kickoff meeting and discussion.
- 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM: Round 1, shotgun start

- Format: Each team will consist of four players, each player plays their own ball through the hole, with one gross score and one net score contributing to the team's total on each hole (note that the same ball cannot be used for both scores).
- Tees:
- Blue for men
- Red for women
- White for players over 65
- Scorecards: Each scorecard will be pre-marked with the players' handicap (75% of handicap used). Players must clearly indicate which ball is being used for the gross score and which is used for the net score. The two scores will then be combined to form the team's total for that hole.
- Max Score: The maximum score for an individual player on any hole is a net score of bogey.
- Mulligans: There are no mulligans.
- Additional Rules:
- USGA rules apply.
- Your round should be completed within 4 hours and 30 minutes.
- All scoring putts must be holed out.
- 14 club maximum is in effect.
- 5-minute maximum search for a lost ball upon arrival to the area.
- Only members of the Kingsmill Resort Club Golf Professional Staff are authorized to make a rules-of-golf decision. If in doubt as to procedure, play a second ball under Rule 3-3. Please ask for a ruling when your round is completed and prior to signing your score card.
- Team Selection: Teams will be determined on the evening of Wednesday, August 26 at the Pairings Party.
- Player Designation: Based on each player’s GHIN handicap, players will be assigned a designation of A, B, C, or D.
- Team Composition:

- Each team will consist of one player from each designation (A, B, C, and D) to ensure balanced and competitive foursomes.
- The committee will randomly assign one “A” player from the player list to each team.
- Each “A” player will then select a “B” player from the list.
- The “A” and “B” players on each team will work together to select a “C” player, followed by the same process to select a “D” player.
- The order in which teams begin the draft will be randomly determined, then a “serpentine draft format” will be used to promote fairness.
- This will be a mixed event and not a North Carolina vs. Virginia competition.

The Overall Champion Golfer
- The individual player who earns the most overall points from the Thursday & Friday matches will be awarded the Kent/Eisenman Trophy.
- Points for each match are as follows:
- 5 for winning team players
- 4 for second place players
- 3 for third place players
- 2 for fourth place players
- 1 for fifth place players
- Total number of points accumulated by each individual over the two matches, will determine the individual, Overall Champion Golfer.
- Ties to be broken by points awarded on the second day, then points awarded on the first day. Then if needed, by a card-off on the two-player match, starting from hole 18 and going backwards to hole 1 utilizing net scores.
