Professional Bio
Melissa joined THM as a Meeting Planner/Account Executive in November 2005. After receiving a B.A. in Communications, with a concentration in Public Relations from North Carolina State University, she has worked on both sides of the meeting planning spectrum. Starting directly out of college with the Hilton Family, working as Catering Sales Manager and soon after as a Sales Manager, Melissa has experienced the hospitality industry throughout. From 2003-2005, she traveled around the country helping put together motivational business conferences for the number one business owners under Amway, where event attendance ranged from 1,500 to 15,000.
Melissa serves as executive director for the North Carolina Medical Group Management Association (NCMGMA), the Neurosurgery Executives Resource Value and Education Society (NERVES) and the Charlotte Estate Planning Council (CEPC).
One of Melissa's passions is serving the community by volunteering with Claire's Army, which supports pediatric oncology families. She currently Chairs their Annual Claire’s Army Gala. Melissa is a current member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and the Association Executives of North Carolina (AENC).
Melissa has twin daughters, Haley and Natalie, who keep her on her toes. Most days she works to keep it all together, but every day she enjoys meeting and working with her clients to grow their association’s opportunities.
