Professional Bio
Dr. Anna Thomas is a board-certified internist and hospice and palliative care physician with over 12 years of experience supporting patients and families impacted by dementia. Having personally experienced the demands of caregiving within her own family, she intimately understands the toll it takes on caregivers—particularly women, who often balance full-time careers with the responsibilities of in-home care. As the number of adults living with dementia is projected to double over the next 20 years, Dr. Thomas sees an urgent need for organizations to step up and provide support for their employees who are also caregivers.
As a Certified Life Coach, Certified Positive Approach to Care™ Trainer, and John Maxwell Certified leadership speaker and trainer, Dr. Thomas founded LifeCare LeadHership with a mission to empower women caregivers to transition from overwhelmed caregivers to confident care leaders. Beyond empowering individuals, she partners with organizations and businesses to address the pressing issue of employee burnout. Dr. Thomas speaks on the critical role employers must play in creating a supportive culture that acknowledges the caregiving challenges faced by their workforce. She emphasizes that organizations that prioritize caregiver support, such as offering flexible work options, mental health resources, and leadership development programs, will not only reduce burnout but also improve employee retention and productivity.
Dr. Thomas is also the author of the Amazon best-seller Dementia Care Confidence, a resource for family caregivers that provides practical guidance on navigating the complexities of dementia care with confidence.
